Hey Ram
Valmiki wouldn't have foreseen that his Ramayana would have such a huge impact on the Indian Politicians. With elections round the corner once again Lord Ram has resurfaced on the political scenario. In Ramayana Lord Ram comes back after 14 years, these days he comes back every 4-5 yrs. This time he has come back in the form of ram setu.
i dont know what the UPA governemt was thinking when the ASI produced a controversial study on the Ram Sethu. In a country which is obsessed with idol worship this was bound to affect the people of India and more importantly the BJP. BJP obseession with Ram is quite well known, be it the Babri Majid or the theory of Ram Rajya.
Between all this Tamil Nadu CM comes up with his own views on Ram adding fuel to the fire. And so once again Lord Ram captures the limelight of the Indian politics.
Sadly, BJP having not learned from it's past mistakes, is bound to make this issue an important one against the government. Like in the 2004 general elections, the BJP leaders are going to take out rath yatras from one part of the country to the other with its hindutva or ram rajya agenda.
India with its wide array of problems is ignored and the election is fought on the issues of religion and not on the development side.

This is the 'ramban ilaaj' of politicians. Whenever opposition party gets no strong reason to oppose the ruling party, they attack the sentiments of emotional (bullshit) indians. People of this country are so much attached with unseen gods that they suddenly gets excited and make the motive of politicians successful. Anyways, to change the mentality of these ppl is like finding life in universe. So be habituated to this kind of gimmicks.
